Just The Two of US

Friday 22 February 2008

I bought Michael tickets as part of his Christmas present and last night we went to see Russell Howard at The Bedford Corn Exchange and he was brilliant! We haven't laughed that hard and loud for a long time. Our faces hurt by the time we left.

We caught up with friends last weekend. Down the Pub on Friday night with Hayley and Dave, round Andre and Marie's for dinner Saturday night and Simon and Noo and gorgeous little Ellie came round to ours for a Chinese Sunday afternoon/evening. Nothing much planned for this weekend; Michael is off Go-karting with the boys on Sunday and if the weather is nice (doubtful!) I may potter in the garden. If the weather is pants I may just curl up on the sofa and read/watch dvd's.

By the way, the Rosemary has sprouted!!

'Basil!'

So the basil is sprouting as are the chives. The rosemary hasn't done anything yet but I think I sowed it too soon. They are all proudly lined up on my kitchen window sill. I already have oregano in the garden which has survived the winter really well.

I have started giving some thought to the veggies I want to grow this year. I'll do courgettes again (but not quite as many plants as last year, I was overrun with them). I'll give tomatoes another go (I lost all my plants to some nasty bastard bug). Am thinking about new pots, carrots and radishes. I grew radishes last year and they were lovely. Might invest in a few strawberry plants too.

I also want to try butternut squash as it is one of my fave veggies, but have no idea about it. Need to invest in a good book.

This weekend we are off to Ripon for the first rally event on our calendar. Neither of us have managed to book anywhere to stay (we keep forgetting) so it may be sleeping bags in the Jeep!
